Earlier this week, Sport stated Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford had given Barcelona a deadline of Wednesday to decide whether to sign him in the winter market.
It was said that some sporting leaders within the Camp Nou have doubts over his attitude and performances.
Thursday’s edition of Sport brings the new development on the forward’s future which will likely be away from Manchester United. Their title states ‘decisive summit for Rashford’s future’.
Barcelona, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco are the four clubs keen on the 27-year-old.
The England international is set to leave the Red Devils and could decide his next club in the coming days. On Wednesday, his agent had a ‘summit’ with Manchester United to evaluate offers and ‘try to advance a ‘concrete proposal’.
Sport claim the Serie A side are ‘pushing hard’ while Barca, BVB and Monaco are still in the picture. They add Rashford would prioritise the La Liga side, but they have to make room in their wage bill to sign him in January.
Hansi Flick and Barca sporting director Deco both see the Manchester United player as an interesting option for their attack. The Catalan club have to first offload a player to lower their wage bill, but their outgoing operations are ‘stagnant’.
The report claims Rashford will leave on loan without an obligation to buy and the main problem for the summer is his salary. Sport insist he’ll have to lower it to find a club in Europe, meaning the forward must make an effort.
