Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been photographed holding up a Besiktas shirt, before sharing his first words ahead of becoming their new manager and his first job post Manchester United.
Football Arena share the picture today as Solskjær prepares for his first job after leaving Manchester United in 2021.
Reports throughout Turkey have made it clear the Norwegian is closing in on the Besiktas job today. They’ve been without a manager since sacking Giovanni van Bronckhorst in December.
The club released an official statement announcing talks with Solskjær and it appears the 51-year-old is now on the verge of being appointed.
“I’m very pleased to be here. I’m looking forward to taking office. It’s great to be in this great city," he said when asked about his new role.
The Besiktas job will be Solskjær's first since leaving Manchester United in 2021. He was appointed United manager on an interim basis in December 2018 following Jose Mourinho's departure.
A superb end to that season saw him sign a three-year deal in March 2019. He guided Manchester United to second in the Premier League and the Europa League final during his time in charge.
He was dismissed in 2021 and has been out of work since but now appears ready to make his return in Turkey.
