The left-back position have been a long-standing issue for Manchester United. Last season, Tyrell Malacia remained sidelined completely due to a serious knee issue, while Luke Shaw was also unavailable owing to his injury for the majority of last term, featuring only 12 league games.
Now, Malacia has returned to full fitness after recovering from his issue but has found it difficult to showcase his best. On the other hand, Shaw continues to struggle with fitness problems.

So, Diogo Dalot has been playing on the left side of the defense but his performances haven’t been up to the mark as he is more comfortable on the opposite side.
Erik ten Hag used a traditional fullback in a back-four but new head coach, Ruben Amorim has been playing with wing-backs in a back-three system.
Now, ESPN state that Man Utd are exploring options to sign a new left wing-back in January and have included Patrick Dorgu, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Nuno Mendes and Tyrick Mitchell on their wish-list.
The Red Devils have already made contact with Crystal Palace to enquire about the details of signing Mitchell and have done the same with Wolves about Ait-Nouri.
Mitchell currently earns around £40,000-a-week in salary at Selhurst Park and his existing deal will expire at the end of this season. Therefore, he should be available in a cut-price deal in this window.
The defender has been featuring in the LWB position under Oliver Glasner and could fit in the 3-4-2-1 system under Amorim at Man Utd.
In 22 Premier League appearances this term, he has made three assists and kept six clean-sheets thus far.
The 25-year-old defender would be a useful acquisition for Man Utd considering their current LWB situation.
In your view, should Man Utd lure Tyrick Mitchell to strengthen the defense?
