Manchester United have been languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table and they need reinforcements in several areas of the squad to turn the situation around.

The Red Devils’ attack have misfired thus far this term, scoring only 23 goals in 20 league games. They even failed to find the back of the net in three consecutive games before netting twice vs Liverpool last weekend.

Now, The Athletic say that Man Utd want to address their goal-scoring issues by signing a new forward and are seriously plotting a January move to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani on a loan deal.

The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the best versatile forwards available at the moment and United have already held talks with the player’s representatives to hire him.

However, Ruben Amorim’s side aren’t the only club interested in him as Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are also among the leading contenders to get the deal done.

The Frenchman joined Les Parisiens from Eintracht Frankfurt for big money in 2023 but he hasn’t been able to impress Luis Enrique. So, he has been on the periphery this term, making only two starts in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

He warmed the bench in the last two Champions League games and wasn’t part of the squad in the last two league fixtures.

Moreover, Kolo Muani wasn’t even named in the squad in the Trophees des Champions final win over Monaco at the weekend.

The forward – who currently earns around £145,000-a-week in salary at Parc des Princes – is comfortable playing in the CF position but can also be deployed in one of the two CAM roles in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.

Have your say – Should Man Utd lure Kolo Muani to strengthen the frontline?
