Tottenham make Marcus Rashford transfer decision with Man Utd outcast tipped for loan exit

Tottenham’s stance on signing Marcus Rashford has been revealed, with the forward tipped to leave Manchester United on loan in January.
Rashford’s days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered having seemingly been exiled from the first-team by Ruben Amorim.
Though he started brightly under the new United head coach, scoring three goals in his first two Premier League games, the England international has been left out of the last four matchday squads.
And despite the Red Devils’ terrible form, Amorim insists Rashford will not be selected until he shows more in training.
Speaking after United’s 2-0 loss at Wolves on Boxing Day, the Portuguese said: ‘It's always the same reason it's going to be. We have to be the same professionals, I have to be the same guy winning or losing.
'Losing, I have to be stronger so I will continue with my idea until the end.'
In a bombshell interview earlier in December, Rashford himself said he was ‘ready for a new challenge’, casting further doubt over his future at his boyhood club.
With the January transfer window just days away, many clubs around the world have been linked with signing the 27-year-old, however The Athletic report that a permanent sale is unlikely until the summer.
Instead, it is said that Rashford could leave United on loan until the end of the season, which would give him the chance to improve his form and rebuild his reputation which has taken a blow over the last 18 months.
If he performs well it should also increase his value in a similar manner to how Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho did before they secured permanent exits last summer.

One team that has been touted to sign the Three Lions star is Tottenham, with Ange Postecoglou hoping to improve his attacking options in January.
But The Athletic further report that Spurs are not interested in Rashford, chiefly because they want to continue recruiting players 23 or younger who are still developing.
Moreover, Rashford plays primarily on the left-flank and would not get in the starting XI ahead of club captain Son Heung-min, with the north London side focusing on finding cover for centre-forward Dominic Solanke.
Even a loan deal is unlikely as they would have to cover part of his £325,000-a-week wages, which will be a stumbling block for any team.
Asked about the links to Rashford, Postecoglou recently said: ‘If I looked at everyone we were linked to, I would have no time to do anything else, to be honest.
‘I have got other people to do that part of the process. For us, we've been pretty disciplined in what we're trying to build here and we'll continue to be so.’
It remains to be seen whether Rashford will ever play for United again, with Amorim’s side next in action on Monday, December 30 when they host Newcastle.
