Armando Broja’s move to Ipswich is on the verge of collapse following his medical, talkSPORT understands.

The Tractor Boys are in talks with Chelsea about the terms of the deal, which was a loan with a £30million obligation if they stay up.

Though it remains to be seen if a deal will go through with an Achilles injury flagged up in his medical.

Everton retain an interest in Broja, who appeared all-but certain to join Ipswich this summer after the deal was agreed in principle.

Broja is not part of Enzo Maresca’s plans at Chelsea, but the possible collapse of his move to Portman Road raises the prospect of him staying.

The Blues are keen to cash in on unwanted academy players to help stay in line with Profit and Sustainability Rules, having splurged on ten new players this summer.

Conor Gallagher was recently sold to Atletico Madrid for £33m and Trevoh Chalobah is also on the transfer list.

Broja is among a number of players who have been forced to train away from the first-team group at Chelsea due to their bloated squad.

The 22-year-old was sent on loan to Fulham in the second half of last season but hardly featured due to the form of Rodrigo Muniz.

He returned from a serious knee injury in September 2023, which kept him out for nine months.

Chelsea, who recently added Joao Felix and Pedro Neto to their lengthy lists of forwards, are also desperate to shift big-money signings Romelu Lukaku and Raheem Sterling.

talkSPORT understands Lukaku has now agreed a three-year deal with Serie A side Napoli.

Chelsea are set to sell him for £38m after two years without a single appearance for the club.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are both thought to be interested in Sterling.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth are considering a move to take Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan but the Blues would need to pay a significant amount of his wages.

And Chelsea are still thought to be pursuing a striker amid links to Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, with six days left before the transfer window slams shut.
