Arsenal will be dipping their toes in the transfer market for attacking reinforcements this summer after witnessing a lot of injuries to the forward line this season.
The attacking options have been depleted, forcing Mikel Arteta to deploy midfielder Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker.
However, Gabriel Martinelli's return has proven to be a timely boost, and above all, Bukayo Saka's potential return to action after the international break will strengthen Arsenal's attack.
The biggest observation this season is that Arsenal's attack has been underwhelming, apart from Saka.
Players like Kai Havertz, Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have shown their productivity in front of the goal, but not consistently. The Gunners, perhaps, are not as lethal as their rivals Liverpool, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest in the final third. Ethan Nwaneri can be the future of the Gunners but he shouldn’t be shouldering more responsibilities at such a young age.
It has proven to be a huge stumbling block in their quest for titles, and the Gunners will look to fix this issue in the upcoming transfer window.
Among the high-profile names linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium is Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane, whose future at the Allianz Arena is up in the air.
The 29-year-old's contract with Bayern expires this summer, and although he wants to extend his stay, no progress has been made over renewal talks.
It has opened a window of possibilities for the German international, with Arsenal looking to pounce on him, as reported by Football Insider.
Will Sane revive Arsenal's attack?
Sane has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern following the emergence of Michael Olise this season.
The French winger has hit the ground running in his debut season in the Bundesliga, sealing the rights-winger spot with his extraordinary displays.
Nevertheless, Sane has shown his quality whenever he is on the pitch, bagging nine goals and four assists in all competitions.
Although it looks difficult for the former Manchester City star to grab the starting berth, he is still willing to continue at Bayern, even on reduced terms.
Getting Sane for absolutely nothing is a great opportunity for the Gunners, provided his quality and experience in the Premier League.
Although he is not a typical winger who can hold width on the flanks, Sane prefers to cut inside and have a crack at the goal, even from unnatural positions.
His blistering pace makes him a dangerous outlet during transitional attacks, and his playmaking skills are also extraordinary.
Sane is also a quality dribbler, which helps him thrive in 1v1 situations and poses a huge threat to defenders.
The former Schalke star can provide much-needed depth to Arsenal's attack, but it remains to be seen whether he would change his mind about extending his contract at Bayern.
