It must be one of the proudest feelings in ever to see your son scoring goals in professional football.
When it’s for a club the size of Rangers and you’re in the away end to see it? Special.
Especially when you’ve travelled all the way from Brazil to brave the freezing temperatures of Dingwall in December.
That is exactly what happened for Danilo’s dad yesterday after he was in the away end for the win over Ross County, after also being at Ibrox to take in the thumping of Kilmarnock midweek.
Marcelo Silva was wrapped up in a hat and Rangers scarf to brave the Highland chill and was rewarded when his lad scored one of the three goals.
Danilo’s dad in amongst Rangers fans
Danilo made things comfortable shortly before half-time, pouncing on a mistake from home goalkeeper Jack Hamilton to block his attempted kick-out and tap home.
That added to Hamza Igamane’s opener and James Tavernier put the icing on the cake later on with a lovely strike.

As the team cruised to a fourth victory on the bounce it led to a party atmosphere in the stands and the Brazilian striker’s father was part of it.
Clearly having the time of his life, Marcelo uploaded some videos to his Instagram story as he bounced around in time with the fans’ chanting.
Rangers fans loving Danilo’s dad’s antics
One fan shared the clip from Danilo’s dad’s Instagram story and said: “Danilo’s dad getting him brownie points.”
One supporter added: “He was a few rows behind me in the main stand on Wednesday night and he was brilliant.”
This fan wrote: “Danilo’s da gets it.”
While this one added simply: “Class.”
The player himself picked up on his old man’s antics, later sharing a clip and saying: “This guy. You’re crazy, bro.”
Danilo is getting back to his best after coming back from his injury troubles but manager Philippe Clement insists there is more to come.
