Philippe Clement is slowly but surely beginning to stem the tide of Rangers' long-held injury issues.

When the Belgian manager came into Ibrox, there were several periods when the Rangers team had as many as 12 players out of action due to injury.

It's a situation Philippe Clement branded unacceptable and, between an overhaul of the club's medical department and improved squad rotation, something the ex-Club Brugge boss has sought to overturn.

As Rangers prepare to head into the clash with Ross County, Oscar Cortes and Rabbi Matondo are back in Ibrox first-team training.

But whilst the Scottish Premiership clash will come too soon for both players, Philippe Clement confirmed one player is set to return in Dingwall.

Dujon Sterling to return for Rangers

Dujon Sterling has missed the last two matches for Rangers due to a trapped nerve.

As a result, James Tavernier has been recalled into the team and has made a big impression for really the first time this season.

Fans waxed lyrical about Tav's performance against Kilmarnock and the right-back is back in the berth in time for a crucial run of fixtures.

But just as James Tavernier returns to form, Philippe Clement has confirmed that Dujon Sterling is back in contention at Ibrox.

"Yes (Dujon Sterling is available)," said Clement when asked about the ex-Chelsea star.

"Dujon was shortly out so that's another story than with Rabbi and Oscar who are longer term, so we need to see with them."

Only two players out with injury at Ibrox

Philippe Clement has also confirmed that Rangers are now down to only two players in their squad out of action due to injury.

Neraysho Kasanwirjo might still be a Rangers transfer target, but the Dutch U21 star is out of action for the foreseeable future.

It comes after undergoing surgery following an injury sustained whilst on international duty during the November break.

The other issues surrounds Welsh international Tom Lawrence, who has been out of action since the 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen in October.

Philippe Clement claims the ex-Derby City captain is 'on schedule' to return in the coming weeks.

"Tom Lawrence is still (doing) individual work," said Clement. "But he's on schedule for the moment.

"In that way only him and Nana are out from the squad and the rest is available for training."
