Cyriel Dessers looked set to be leaving Rangers at the start of January.
Now the Nigerian international hitman with 'unfinished business' at Ibrox is the club's man of the moment.
With six goals in his last four games Cyriel Dessers has hinted that's he's going nowhere as Rangers look to keep a hold of the 30-year-old hitman.
And the resurgent striker has sent a message to the rest of Scottish football that he's currently 'got the feeling' at Rangers as the goals fly in.
Cyriel Dessers warns defenders 'he's got the feeling'
It's been a whirlwind few weeks for Cyriel Dessers who climbed off the bench to send Aberdeen signing Kristen Tobers spiralling in the 3-0 hammering of the Dons.
Dessers then backed that up with a Scottish Cup hat-trick against Fraserburgh before netting a stunning left-foot equaliser for Rangers at Old Trafford.
Cyriel Dessers then netted a stunning third goal for Rangers towards the end of the 3-1 victory over Dundee United, lashing a left foot finish across the helpless Jack Walton's goal.
It's a sign of a striker in increasing confidence and Cyriel Dessers warned Scottish defenders on Sky Sports after the game that he's in a purple patch.
"Obviously it's always fun to score," Dessers said.
"But I'm even happier that we won a difficult away game. That's the most important thing.
"Obviously as a striker you want to get on the scoresheet. I am happy with the goal was a good finish I think.
"Yeah you could say (I am in the groove).
"As a striker, sometimes it's difficult to explain but sometimes you've got the feeling.
"It was one chance and it had to be a goal."
Rangers striker issues 'this is the way' rallying cry
Cyriel Dessers is an important member of the Rangers dressing room and one of the club's most experienced campaigners.
Whilst the striker hasn't been without his critics, having been handed the captain's armband v Fraserburgh it sent a message about the hitman's leadership credentials.
Speaking about his Ibrox teammates coming from behind for the first time in the Scottish Premiership this season, Dessers hailed the mentality of his teammates at Tannadice.
The Rangers striker also told the Ibrox squad that if the club is to be successful going forward, then this 'has to be the way'.
"It was very pleasing," said Dessers. "We know Dundee United is a good team, a solid team.
"Hard to play against as well here in the atmosphere.
"We were lucky that we had a lot of fans with us so we felt a little bit at home but obviously happy with the win.
"This has to be the way. I think last season we had a lot of times that we came back that we showed this mental strength.
"I think today was a good example and this has to give us confidence."
