Former Rangers star sacked from first manager role after miserable 1 win in 12 equals Manchester City's run

In the difficult job of football management, you are always one result away from the axe.
And that is exactly what one former Rangers player learned earlier today.
In what was his first job as a boss on his own, Charlie Adam was sacked by Fleetwood Town in England’s League Two following what was a miserable run of form with the Cod Army.
Adam’s side have only won one game in their last 12 fixtures which was a narrow 1-0 home victory over Bradford back in early November.
The coach met his end with the EFL club earlier this morning.
Fleetwood lost 2-0 away to Barrow with just one shot on target all afternoon and that was the defeat to seal the manager‘s fate.
Adam left his team with the threat of a relegation battle looming and just a few points outside of the drop zone in 18th.
Charlie Adam was sacked by Fleetwood Town as manager
In confirmation of their decision, Fleetwood made clear their thanks to the 39-year-old rookie gaffer.
Their statement read: “Fleetwood Town can confirm Charlie Adam has left the club with immediate effect.
“All at Fleetwood Town would like to thank Charlie for his hard work and commitment.
“The Club will issue a further update on the first team staff in due course.”
Club owner, Jamie Pilley, added: "I'd like to personally thank Charlie for his commitment and professionalism over the last 12 months.
"He's been a pleasure to work with but recent results meant we felt a change was necessary.
"I wish him well for the future."
Adam’s recent run of form is the same as Pep Guardiola’s at Man City
Adam took charge of Fleetwood on New Year’s Eve last year and leaves just shy of a full 12 months in the gig.
He equals Pep Guardiola’s current record with Manchester City of one win in 12 with their most recent run of form seeing the side go three defeats from four.
City lost again yesterday afternoon in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.
Adam had guided his now former team to just one loss in nine early on in the campaign but they fell off a cliff in recent months.
