Rangers legend questions Rangers sack call as protestors gain unlikely ally in Arsenal legend

Ally McCoist knows a thing or two about a crisis at Rangers.
The 9IAR legend is one of the Ibrox club's greatest ever players and was also the manager during Rangers' financial implosion of 2012.
Now making his living as one of British football's most well-loved pundits, Ally McCoist has been speaking about the protests which marred Rangers' win over St Johnstone.
The Union Bears have threatened more protest action and Ally McCoist has thrown his weight behind frustrated Rangers supporters.
Even if he's not convinced staging walkouts is the way to go.
The Rangers legend has also been talking about a key turning point in the recent story of the club; the premature sacking of Giovanni van Bronckhorst in late 2022.
Ally McCoist on Rangers protests
"They've got a point," McCoist told TalkSPORT. "I'm not sure they're going the right way about it.
"But they've certainly got a point, there's no doubt about they've got a point.
"You can argue they've stood still after Steven won the league. In fact, I think that's blatantly obvious.
"They didn't do enough.
"I also think the dismissal of Giovanni van Bronckhorst at that particular time was far too early, I really do.
"What I will defend, I will defend the fans' rights to do as they choose and if they want to walk out, I defend that."
Arsenal legend sympathises with Ibrox fans
Rangers fans have also earned an unlikely supporter in Arsenal legend Martin Keown who has also been reacting to the Ibrox protests.
Speaking on TalkSport's White & Jordan (13/01), Keown claims that the Rangers board failed to build on Steven Gerrard winning 55 and are now paying the price.
"They didn't build on that success," said Keown.
"I think the fact we're talking about it today, is the message has gone across.
"You don't want a club or a stadium that's not united, there isn't a future for that, but there's no harm in them making them point there.
"If they feel that at the football club…"
