There always seem to be Rangers transfer links which return window after window.

So far this month we have seen Bamo Meïte, Darius Olaru and Joe Gelhardt re-appearing as potential signings.

While a former player has also been linked with Rangers reportedly ‘making contact with Nikola Katic, who for his part wants the move.

It seemed to come about after Craig Moore suggested Katic had been put on Gers desk as an option.

Now, another player that seemed to be on the radar last summer looks to be available.

Oussama Targhalline expected to leave Le Havre

Le Havre midfielder Oussama Targhalline was one player being monitored by Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen ahead of this season starting.

Rangers were one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on Targhalline due to his contract situation, with his club trying to extend his deal which was due to run out this summer.

Gers were said to highly appreciate’ the 22-year-old but there were also unnamed clubs in France and Italy having a look.

Now, Targhalline is likely to move on in this window with a contract extension ruled out, according to Footmercato.

It’s claimed a number of clubs are interested in striking while they have the chance, but the report doesn’t name Rangers or any other side.

It should be noted that Targhalline is Moroccan, a market explored by Rangers.

The signing of Hamza Igamane for a bargain £1.7million has proved to be successful, with the player proving right Philippe Clement’s prediction that he would take time to settle before exploding.

That has been the case as he’s been of the team’s better performers.

Gers were also linked with centre-back Hatim Essaouabi, who plays for Igamane’s former club AS FAR, so it would seem the Moroccan market is one they’re looking at.

On top of that, Rangers last summer appointed a former Ligue 1 scout. Ludovic Lemor was at Marseille, where Targhalline played prior to his switch to Le Havre.
