Rangers player ratings v Dundee

Philippe Clement chose to leave Hamza Igamane and Oscar Cortés on the bench for the kick-off but saw his side dominate and his selection justified.

Jack Butland – 7

Great stop at 1-0 from a Dundee counterattack with big keeper not knowing that the assistant referee was going to flag for offside.

Topped this with a stunning double stop at 2-0 and another at 3-0 to save his captain's blushes.

James Tavernier – 5

His low, driven effort saw Cyriel Dessers open the scoring but his passing hasn't been great for a while.

Dundee's only chances also came down his side either getting turned, caught out of position or from loose passing.

Ended the game with a goal and an assist though – typical Tavernier.

Jefte – 8

Looking more and more impressive every week.

Solid in defence and contributing in the final third.

Robin Propper – 7

Developing a good partnership with John Souttar.

Didn't give much away against the dangerous and in-form Simon Murray.

John Souttar – 8

Has finally stepped out of the shadow of Connor Goldson and seems to be leading the defence.

Usual composure in possession and nearly got himself an assist with an inch perfect cross for Dessers.

Connor Barron – 7

Looking more and more like Stuart McCall in every game.

Covered every blade of grass and got Rangers on the front foot.

Not yet capable of controlling the tempo of a game but he has a good base to work from.

Dujon Sterling – 4

Has been off the boil in recent appearances and made little impact with and without the ball.

Was given a start in midfield to add energy and physicality but offered neither.

Subbed at half-time.

Tom Lawrence – 6

Steady away.

Wasn't great, wasn't bad.

Kept the number 10 role but did a lot of his good work dropping into a deeper position, not as effective in the final third.

Nedim Bajrami – 9

Outstanding Ibrox debut.

Looks technically superior and always seems to make the right decision and played a key role in the first and third goals.

Silencing those that questioned why Clement played him on the left.

Cyriel Dessers – 9

Much better from the Gers number nine.

Involved in every goal and denied by Trevor Carson on another couple of occasions.

Vaclav Cerny – 7

First game back after illness and should have walked off the Ibrox turf with a couple of assists.

Forces a good save from Carson and caused Dundee problems all evening.

Substitutes

Mohamed Diomande – 8

More influential than he has been recently and linked play neatly between midfield and attack.

Being dropped should serve as a wake up call.

Ross McCausland – 7

Usual hard work and looked to get in behind Dundee's defence.

Hamza Igamane – 7

Looks to be a bargain and a real find.

Chose the right options and only denied a goal from a header by a sharp save from Carson.

Oscar Cortés – 7

Kept Carson honest with a powerful strike and looked to link with Jefte.

Neysharo Kasanwirjo – 6

Not enough time to make an impression.
