Rangers are in a constant state of transition at the moment with players in every position available for sale.

Cyriel Dessers is one of the latest names linked with an exit and Kemar Roofe has already left.

Albion Rrahmani has been targeted and Hamza Igamane is said to be an imminent arrival at Ibrox but there has been update with another possible new addition to the Rangerssquad.

Theo Bair bid revealed as Rangers consider striker options

With so many players needed, not every position can be filled with a big money signing.

One individual who caused Rangers problems last season was Theo Blair.

The powerful Motherwell striker unsettled Connor Goldson and Ben Davies to the extent that he kick started the slump that saw the title slip from the grasp of Philippe Clement.

It was the sort of performance that probably would have alerted the Auchenhowie analysis team.

Former Steelmen stalwart Willie Pettigrew, amid interest from Rangers, has revealed to The Herald that there has already been an offer lodged:

"He took a wee while to settle in, but Kettlewell stuck by him, and since he has gone through the middle he has done really well.

"He's still developing, he's not a top-quality striker just yet. He still has a lot to learn, and I would have been looking forward to seeing him develop at Motherwell.

"The club have turned down £750,000 for him I think, and they should get a decent amount of money for him in the end, which is the flip side.

"Motherwell have to develop players and sell them on, sadly for the fans sometimes."

Not every signing has to be a multi-million pound deal

Walter Smith was the king of picking up bargain strikers who could chip in with goals throughout the season and play a supporting role to the main men.

Names like Daniel Cousin and Jean-Claude Darcheville and even further back with Peter van Vossen and Erik Bo Andersen.

The latter pair maybe didn't fulfill their full potential but both left with respectable goal scoring records.

Bair is a different type of player in that he has all the good qualities that Alfredo Morelos has and will hold the ball up all day long.

With 15 goals and six assists for a struggling team, he also knows where the goals are after taking a step back to analyse his game.

As one of four, Bair would probably be a welcome addition to the forward line but the Canada international isn't quite at the level required to be relied upon in European football.

One of the problems in recent years has been only having one fit striker and depth is needed if Clement is to right the wrongs of previous seasons.

The amount of money spent doesn't always equate to guaranteed success, Bair would be a solid signing, depending on how high Motherwell want to go.
