According to claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are ready to step up their pursuit of Southampton forward Paul Onuachu.
The Nigeria international has been linked with the Black Eagles in recent weeks after impressing whilst on loan with Trabzonspor last season.
Fanatik today report on the latest developments regarding Besiktas' interest in the Southampton player, and they say the Super Lig giants will sit down for transfer talks at the end of this week as they look to reach an agreement with the Saints.
It's claimed the Istanbul side are preparing an offer for Onuachu and that they are looking to loan him until the end of the season, with an option to purchase him this summer.
With uncertainty over the future of Ciro Immobile, Ole Gunnar Solskjær may have to bring in a No.9 before next month's transfer deadline.
Besiktas have also been linked with Fulham's Raúl Jiménez in recent days, but a deal for the Mexican is only likely to happen during the next window.
He's made 15 appearances for Southampton this season, but has rarely started games. Onuachu is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026.
The Turkish transfer window doesn’t close until February 12th.
