Wilson Isidor's excellent goal was all that there was between Sunderland and Hull as Regis Le Bris' side went back to the top of the table. Here's how Andy rated the Lads!

Anthony Patterson: 6/10

Had a couple of bits to do in the second half but mostly a spectator. Was beaten by an effort that smashed the woodwork and got a fingertip on a wild shot following a Cirkin challenge.

Trai Hume: 7/10

Got forward into space in the first half, overlapping for Rigg and Roberts, had a good chance from one instance but his shot was blocked. Had to get stuck in defensively at times, with Hull causing issues down his side on the counter.

Chris Mepham: 8/10

Another accomplished performance in the middle of the defence, mopped up in dangerous scenarios multiple times.

Luke O'Nien: 7/10

Getting a good understanding going with Mepham in the centre of defence, with Mepham mopping up in behind and O'Nien pressing and making bursts forward.

Dennis Cirkin: 7/10

Not the same attacking thrust from Cirkin today but defended well throughout and didn't let anything get past him.

Dan Neil (C): 7/10

Got an assist after nipping in to win the ball and play in Isidor and it was a better all-round display from Neil, tidy on the ball, worked hard defensively but a few more instances of him looking to get forward.

Jobe Bellingham: 6/10

A tidy effort in the middle of the pitch, had one effort skim just wide of the post in the first half from 25 yards out..

Patrick Roberts: 6/10

Often had acres of room to work in down the right hand side but didn't do anywhere near enough with it, linked up well with Hume and Rigg but his best moment came in the second half when he wriggled through a couple of challenges in the box and saw his effort blocked.

Chris Rigg: 7/10

Linked up really well with Roberts and Hume and played a lovely ball in behind for Hume in the first half. Could maybe have done better from a Mundle cross but a good game.

Romaine Mundle: 6/10

Had a good battle with the Hull captain for the entire game, didn't always get the better of him and didn't have enough support from Cirkin but kept at it and almost got an assist when he picked out Rigg.

Wilson Isidor: 7/10

Worked really hard during his time on the pitch, without much of a sniff other than a couple of half chances, but got one opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. Ran 80 yards on the counter attack and dinked the ball over the goalkeeper for his third goal for the club.

Substitutes

Aaron Connolly: 6/10

Made his debut and worked hard up top in the time he had.

Alan Browne: 6/10

Came on for Roberts as we looked to see the game out.

Man of the Match: Chris Mepham

What a great signing Mephem is turning out to be, such a classy defender and read the game so well when Hull were breaking, particularly in the first half. Mopped up dangerous situations multiple times and has a really good partnership forging with Luke O'Nien.
