'Sunderland are now on' player as talks with other club stall – Le Bris looking for January deal

Sunderland have stepped in to try and sign Enzo Le Fee from Roma after a move to Real Betis fell through for the midfielder.
That's according to Il Messaggero, who report that Sunderland are 'now on' the Roma man and could reunite him with Regis Le Bris this month.
Le Fee is one of several players Roma would like to move on this month as they seek to reshape their squad and enjoy a calmer second half of the season under Claudio Ranieri.
Several reports had made it clear that Real Betis were pushing to sign the 24-year-old, but that deal appears to have fallen through, and Il Messaggero now report that 'Sunderland are one' the player instead.
They don't make it clear what move that Sunderland have made at this moment in time, just that the Championship promotion chasers are the ones now pushing to sign Le Fee this month.
He is of course a player that Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris knows well, with Le Fee having made 57 appearances under him at FC Lorient. In fact, he's only made more appearances under Christophe Pélissier in his career to date.
Whether that works in Sunderland's favour remains to be seen but they're the club now in front for Le Fee as Roma continue to seek to move him on in this window.
