Nelson Abbey off for exiting Portuguese adventure after failed Swansea City loan

Nelson Abbey is set to head to Portugal and joining Rio Ave on loan after his failed loan spell at Swansea City.
That's according to O Jogo, who say the 21-year-old will be joining the Portuguese side on loan for the remainder of the season.
The centre-back had spent the first half of this season on loan at Swansea City from Olympiacos, joining in the summer towards the end of August.
The loan move has proven to be a complete failure, though, as he's managed just one 58-minute appearances in the EFL Cup defeat to Wycombe back in August.
That's led to his loan deal from Olympiacos being cancelled and he's now heading to Portugal, with Rio Ave announcing his signing on Tuesday.
The versatile defender, who can play in the centre or on the left, has signed with the Liga Portugal side until the end of the season.
It's the latest step in a varied career for the 21-year-old to date that's seen him play for Reading, Olympiacos, Swansea City and now Rio Ave.
He'll be hoping to enjoy far more success in Portugal than he did in Wales, where his loan move can be described as a complete failure.
