Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Posgtecoglou is under a lot of pressure after a disappointing season so far.
Spurs were expected to fight for trophies this season and secure Champions League qualification. Postecoglou was backed significantly at the start of the season with quality signings as well. So far, the Australian manager has failed to deliver.
Tottenham are in the mid-table position and they are likely to miss out on Champions League qualification. It will be interesting to see if they can win a trophy.
There have been rumours that Tottenham could look to replace Postecoglou at the end of the season and they have been linked with multiple managers. Journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed that Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is very high on Daniel Levy's shortlist to replace the Australian manager.
Jacobs said to GMS: "If Tottenham therefore do draw up a formal shortlist and have a vacancy, we're still looking more at the likes of Andoni Iraola, who's very high in Daniel Levy's thinking.
"Marco Silva and Thomas Frank [also], and it is interesting that the names, as part of Tottenham's succession planning, have all got proven Premier League experience."
Iraola has done an impressive job at Bournemouth and there is no doubt that he is one of the best young managers in the Premier League right now. The 42-year-old could be attracted to the idea of managing a big club like Tottenham if the opportunity presents itself. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
Postecoglou has been given enough opportunities to prove himself and he has failed to deliver. It would not be a surprise if he is shown the door at the end of the season.
