Tottenham youngster Antonín Kinský was convinced to join Spurs this month personally by chairman Daniel Levy.

That's according to his agent, Viktor Kolář, who has revealed all today via MF DNES about the youngster after his flying start to life in England.

21-year-old Kinský joined Tottenham in a €16.5m deal from Slavia Prague on January 5th, having worked his way up the Czech club after joining them in 2021.

He is undoubtedly one for the future but has found himself thrown in the deep end by Ange Postecoglou as he elected to name him in the starting 11 for the clash with Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg earlier this week.

That proved to be a wise choice as the youngster made a positive impression, keeping a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Arne Slot's side.

It was a debut he won't forget for a while and he was pictured afterwards celebrating with his family, before then being praised by fans and pundits alike.

It's been a whirlwind week for the youngster, who has quickly gone from playing football in his homeland to shining in England for one of the so-called top six.

He and his agent certainly didn't see such a scenario, with Kolář revealing Kinský was persuaded to join Tottenham by Levy.

“We would not have written such a scenario even in our dreams,” he told Sport Invest.

“I have to admit that I wanted to experience that beautiful story again. That a footballer would be born, whom you would help raise for a world-class club. That it would make sense for you to devote your time, capacity, and energy to him from the very beginning.

"Tottenham has a great team that takes care of the newcomers.  Five or six people who speak all the world’s languages."

"Daniel Levy, the owner of Tottenham himself (convinced him)," he added when asked who had persuaded the youngster's father, who had initially been sceptical, to agree to the move.

"That same day (New Year's Eve) he sent a message that he was flying to Prague on January 1. We met in our office in Pankrác.  After three hours, it was agreed. I was so moved by how the father gave his son his blessing: Go ahead, I trust you. After the meeting, he was sure that the move was the right one.”
