Tottenham Hotspur are already weighing up potential managerial changes, with Ange Postecoglou's future hanging in the balance after a disappointing campaign.
Spurs have endured a frustrating season, currently sitting 14th in the Premier League and failing to make an impact in domestic competitions.
Their only chance to salvage the season lies in the Europa League, but given their inconsistent form, lifting the trophy remains a daunting task.
Among the names linked with a possible return to North London is former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Mauricio Pochettino: Buyout clause revealed after Levy meeting
Daniel Levy was spotted with Pochettino earlier today, with the pair seen at Limes in Barnet.
This has intensified speculations of a potential return of the Spurs fan favourite.
According to ESPN's Futbol Americas show, the Argentine has a buyout clause in his contract with the United States national team, reportedly worth at least £20 million.
This clause could allow Tottenham to make a move for him if they decide to part ways with Postecoglou.
Pochettino's time at Tottenham
While other managerial candidates have been discussed, Pochettino remains a strong contender given his previous success at the club.
His time at Spurs saw the team develop into Premier League and European contenders, securing a second-place finish in the league and reaching their first-ever Champions League final in 2019.
Appointed in 2014, Pochettino transformed Tottenham into one of the most exciting teams in England. He introduced a dynamic attacking style, developed young talents like Harry Kane and Dele Alli, and guided the club to consistent top-four finishes. Despite his achievements, he was dismissed in 2019 after a poor domestic run.
During his tenure, Pochettino managed 293 games, winning 160 and drawing 60, with his Spurs side scoring an impressive 559 goals. His footballing philosophy and deep connection with the club's supporters make him a viable option for a return.
While Postecoglou still has the opportunity to turn things around by winning the Europa League, failure to do so could push Spurs to seek a new direction—potentially bringing back a familiar face in Pochettino.
