Barcelona forward Ansu Fati was regarded as one of the finest young attacking talents in European football a few years ago.
However, the 22-year-old is now at a crossroads in his career and he finds himself unwanted at his boyhood club. The player has been offered to Tottenham on loan this month, and it will be interesting to see if they take up the opportunity to sign the Spanish international.
According to TBR Football, Tottenham have been handed the opportunity to sign the player this month. They could use more quality and depth in the side and signing the versatile Spaniard would be a wise decision. He is capable of operating anywhere across the front three.
Fati has had a loan spell in the Premier League before with Brighton, and he might be able to settle in quickly and make an instant impact at Tottenham.
The player was regarded as an elite talent in the past and Italian outlet Tuttosport described him as "the new Messi" a few years ago.
The 22-year-old has not quite managed to live up to the expectations and fulfil his world-class potential. Lack of ample opportunities and injuries have affected his development negatively and it will be interesting to see if he can get his career back on track with regular football in England. Tottenham could nurture him into a quality Premier League attacker. Their attacking philosophy could get the best out of the player as well.
Signing him on loan could be a wise decision for now. If he manages to impress during the second half of the season, Tottenham could then look to sign him permanently. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few days.
