Tottenham Hotspur's season has been plagued by injuries, forcing several key players to push through physical setbacks.

One of those players is Dejan Kulusevski, who has been dealing with ankle problems while continuing to play a vital role for the team.

Injury expert shares update on Dejan Kulusevski

Sports scientist and physical therapy expert, Dr. Rajpal Brar explained that Kulusevski's ongoing ankle soreness is a natural result of playing through minor injuries.

The intense physical demands of football, especially for a player frequently on the move, have only worsened the issue.

Dr. Brar further noted that while the Swedish winger could return to full training after the international break, there is still uncertainty about whether he will recover in time to feature against Chelsea.

Kulusevski's absence would be a setback for Spurs, as he has been one of the team's most reliable performers this season.

Speaking to Tottenham News, the doc remarked:

"An ankle getting sore is a natural part of playing through knocks, especially when on the feet and how the demands of football are on the feet.

"If he does return after the break, I would expect him to be in first team training next week.

"But there is a chance that he's not going to be available for the next one as he's not yet returned to full training."

Kulusevski initially joined Tottenham on loan from Juventus in January 2022 and made an immediate impact, recording 13 goal contributions in just 18 Premier League games.

Although he faced challenges with injuries and fluctuating form the following season, Spurs made his move permanent in the summer of 2023, securing him on a contract until 2028.

This campaign, the 24-year-old has been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season for Tottenham. He has managed 10 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, proving to be a creative spark in attack.

While Spurs have little left to play for in the league, the Europa League remains a major objective. A strong performance against Chelsea could provide crucial momentum for the final stretch of the season.

Kulusevski's presence would have been a huge boost for Ange Postecoglou's side, as his vision and attacking ability could play a key role in Tottenham's push for European success.
