"Highly unlikely that he's back" – Doctor says Tottenham attacker could miss the game against Chelsea

Richarlison's ongoing injury problems have once again cast doubt on his future at Tottenham Hotspur, with concerns mounting over his long-term reliability.
The Brazilian forward has endured a frustrating season, repeatedly finding himself on the sidelines due to recurring fitness issues.
Dr Brar issues Richarlison update
Dr. Rajpal Brar, sports scientist and physical therapist, indicates that Richarlison's rehabilitation has not gone as expected, and he is set to miss the upcoming league fixture against Chelsea.
Brar explained that the 27-year-old striker is trapped in a cycle of persistent injuries, particularly affecting his soft tissues, which continue to hinder his recovery. Given the nature of these setbacks, a swift return to action seems unlikely.
Speaking to Tottenham News, the doc commented:
"This sounds like a calf issue that hasn't responded that well to rehab and that can happen with the calf complex.
"He's also had multiple other soft tissue injuries this season which create dents in fitness and vicious injury cycles.
"It's highly unlikely that he's back right after the break for the next one."
Having already missed 37 games this season, Richarlison's availability has been a major issue for Spurs. While he showed flashes of brilliance earlier in the campaign, his inability to stay fit has been a growing concern.
Manager Ange Postecoglou is keen to build a squad that is both consistent and dependable, and Richarlison's frequent absences may force the club to reconsider his role in the team. Reports suggest that Tottenham could look to offload him in the summer if his injury problems persist.
Since his £50 million transfer from Everton in 2022, which included an additional £10 million in potential add-ons, Richarlison's tenure at Spurs has been anything but smooth. His debut season was marred by injuries and inconsistency, with the forward managing just a single Premier League goal in 23 appearances.
Following Harry Kane's departure in 2023, Richarlison was expected to take on a more prominent role. However, his early-season struggles, coupled with personal challenges, saw him seek professional support for his mental health. He briefly found his rhythm, scoring nine goals in an eight-game stretch, but another injury halted his progress once again.
If Richarlison's injury struggles continue, Tottenham may be left with no choice but to cut their losses and seek a more durable attacking option.
