Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke was sent home before the game as the club endured another setback in their Premier League campaign, managing only a 1-1 draw against Fulham in a tense London derby.

The absence of striker Dominic Solanke added an unexpected twist, as he was left out of the squad due to health concerns.

Manager Ange Postecoglou later clarified that Solanke, despite being deemed fit following discomfort in the Europa League draw against AS Roma, arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium feeling unwell.

The Australian head coach made the call to send him home to ensure his recovery for upcoming matches.

As quoted by Daily Mail, Postecoglou said:

"He just came in today and he wasn't looking the best. He was under the weather so we sent him home. Hopefully a full recovery and ready to go for the next one."

Without Solanke leading the line, Spurs struggled to find rhythm in the attacking third. The first half saw missed opportunities on both ends—Alex Iwobi struck the crossbar for Fulham, while James Maddison clipped the post from a free-kick in a half that ended goalless but brimming with action.

Tottenham found a breakthrough early in the second half. Timo Werner created space for himself before putting in a pinpoint cross, which Brennan Johnson expertly controlled and fired past the Fulham keeper.

However, Fulham quickly hit back through Tom Cairney, whose incredible strike found the back of the net following excellent build up play by Iwobi.

Fulham's momentum suffered when their goalscorer received a red card for a reckless tackle on Dejan Kulusevski, reducing the visitors to ten men.

But despite the numerical advantage and a late surge of attacking pressure, Tottenham failed to find a winner.

The draw places Spurs seventh in the league table with 20 points, three shy of the top four.

With Solanke expected to recover soon, Postecoglou will look to reignite his team's form as they strive to climb higher in the tightly contested Premier League standings. The Lilywhites will need sharper finishing and consistency to regain their momentum.
