Tottenham are reportedly on the verge of signing Ajax forward Brian Brobbey as they seek to bolster their attacking options in the final days of the January transfer window.

According to the print edition of Record (as reported by Tottenham News), Spurs are edging closer to a deal for the talented 22-year-old, placing themselves ahead of West Ham United, who are also keen on securing his services.

Brobbey, who remains under contract with Ajax until 2027, carries a market value of €30 million and has built a reputation as a versatile and clinical striker.

A product of Ajax's famed youth academy, Brobbey has established himself as a dynamic and clinical striker. Since making a memorable senior debut in 2020 with a goal against Fortuna Sittard, the Dutch international has consistently demonstrated his potential at the top level.

After a brief stint with RB Leipzig in 2021, Brobbey returned to Ajax—first on loan and then on a permanent deal. His standout performances last season, including 18 goals and 10 assists in 30 Eredivisie games, solidified his status as one of Europe's most promising forwards.

This season, Brobbey has continued to shine despite limited starts, registering three goals and seven assists across 29 appearances in all competitions. His ability to impact games as both a scorer and a playmaker underlines his versatility and adaptability—qualities that would make him a valuable addition to Tottenham's squad.

Tottenham desperate for reinforcements amid injury crisis

Tottenham's interest in Brobbey comes amid a challenging period for the club. An injury crisis has sidelined several key forwards, including Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, and Wilson Odobert, leaving manager Ange Postecoglou with limited options up front.

Spurs have been actively seeking attacking reinforcements throughout the transfer window. While they were linked with high-profile names like Randal Kolo Muani, who opted for Juventus, and Santiago Gimenez, who is also being pursued by AC Milan, Brobbey now appears to be the most realistic target.

If negotiations progress smoothly, Brobbey could join the North London club before the transfer window shuts.

Ange is desperate for reinforcements this transfer window as he hopes to navigate Spurs away from their miserable Premier League form and guide them to a finish in the top half of the table. They also have a chance to win a trophy this season, being just one win away from reaching the League Cup final.
