Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are keen on the Genoa defender Koni De Winter.

The 22-year-old Belgian has done quite well since joining the Italian club and he has three goals to his name this season. According to a report from Inter Live, multiple top clubs are keen on securing his signature in the summer and the two English clubs are keeping tabs on his development as well.

They would be ready to invest in him, but there is a complication they need to deal with. Both clubs will need to sell some players to raise funds for the transfer. It remains to be seen whether they can get rid of their fringe players in the summer.

The Belgian defender would be a quality long-term acquisition for them if they can get the deal done. Tottenham need more depth in the defensive unit and the 22-year-old is versatile enough to operate as a central defender as well as a full-back. He could be an asset for the north London club in the long term. He is still only 22 and the defender will only improve with coaching and experience.

Similarly, Manchester United need more quality and depth in the defence as well.

Both teams have had mediocre seasons and they will look to bounce back strongly next year. They are expected to secure Champions League qualification and fight for domestic trophies regularly. They need to bring in the right additions to do well in the upcoming campaigns. The Belgian defender would be a solid acquisition for both clubs and he could be tempted to move to the Premier League as well.

Manchester United and Tottenham are among the biggest clubs in English football and the opportunity to join them will be hard to turn down. It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs manage to raise the funds for his signing.
