Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on the Reading defender Andre Garcia.

The 16-year-old left-back has impressed in League One with Reading and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are keeping tabs on him, as per TBR Football. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the competition from their Premier League rivals and secure his signature.

The 16-year-old could be a quality long-term alternative to Ben Davies, who will be out of contract in the summer. Tottenham will need to find a quality alternative to the Welsh international and investing in a long-term prospect like Garcia would be a wise decision. He could be available for a reasonable amount of money and the signing could prove to be a major bargain in the long term.

Tottenham could help him develop into a key player for the club.

Meanwhile, the likes of Chelsea need more depth in the left-back department as well. Ben Chilwell has been linked with a move away from the club. As far as Manchester City or concerned, they have used Josko Gvardiol as the left-back, and the Croatian is a central defender. Signing a specialist left-back would be a wise decision.

The 16-year-old could be attracted to the idea of joining some of the biggest clubs in the country, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. All three clubs will be attractive destinations for him, and they could nurture him into a future star.

Meanwhile, European giants Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille are monitoring the 16-year-old's situation at Reading as well. It will be interesting to see if they step up their pursuit of the player and come forward with an official offer to sign him at the end of the season.
