Tottenham were keen on £42m-rated Premier League defender this summer

Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing the Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

The Hungarian international has made quite a name for himself following a move to the Premier League in the summer of 2023. In his debut season for Bournemouth, the young full-back featured in 33 matches and impressed one and all with his consistent performances.

It has resulted in a significant amount of interest in his services with Arsenal being one of the leading candidates to sign him. Arsenal wanted to sign him along with Manchester United earlier this summer and they would have faced competition from rivals Tottenham Hotspur as revealed by Dean Jones on GMS.

The North London club already have Destiny Udogie and Sergio Reguilón in their squad. But, they were interested in the 20-year-old full-back as they look to prepare for the long run. It will be interesting to see if they decide to return for Kerkez in the near future.

Udogie is the preferred first choice for Ange Postecoglou. But, Reguilon is not a part of his plans and they have been looking to get him off their books. While Ben Davies prefers playing in the heart of the defence, he is well capable of starting out wide on the flank. But, the Welsh international is already 31 and Spurs want to bring in someone who can compete with Udogie for a place in the starting XI.

The North London club have registered their interest in the young full-back but they are not going to find it easy to acquire his services as they could face competition from Arsenal, Manchester United as well as Aston Villa. Meanwhile, the Cherries are ready to negotiate his departure but they want £42 million to sanction his departure amidst interest from some of the biggest English clubs.
