Arsenal fans will be disappointed after seeing their team drop points away to Brighton yesterday, and there's more bad news in store for them this morning.
According to journalist Eduardo Burgos on X, Arsenal have been keen on a transfer deal for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, but he's now close to signing a new contract at Molineux.
The talented Brazilian attacker has been in superb form in the Premier League this season, contributing ten goals and four assists in 19 appearances so far, and it's little surprise that Arsenal would view him as a potential addition to strengthen their front line.

Cunha will clearly be hugely important to Wolves as they bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League, so it was perhaps never going to be easy for Arsenal or anyone else to be able to sign him in the middle of this season.
Matheus Cunha transfer: Arsenal target could get low release clause
One positive to keep an eye on, however, is that Burgos says Wolves would include a low release clause for Cunha if they do end up going down.
That could mean Arsenal have a big opportunity to sign Cunha on the cheap in the summer, though of course most fans would surely rather have him now so he can make an impact in this year's title race.
Mikel Arteta's side look to be facing a huge uphill struggle to claw Liverpool back now, with the Reds having the possibility of going eleven points clear if they win their two games in hand.
Arsenal might have to just focus on finishing as high as possible and doing well in the Champions League and the domestic cup competitions, but that would surely still require bringing in cover for the injured Bukayo Saka.
