What has happened at Man City during the last few months, was so far from what we all expected this season as their run for the Premier League title at this point just looks a lost dream. Pep Guardiola lost Rodri with a long term injury and suddenly everything looked difficult.

They also had other injury worries on important players. Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Mateo Kovacic all having trouble at the same time, then the total midfield area were out at one point, with little or no real cover to run the engine room.

John Stones is a player that can operate in the midfield area, but he also struggles a lot with minor problems almost every season, and at the age of 30, he needs longer time to get back to his best level. Pep Guardiola decided to give Rico Lewis more responsiblity as he had major problems to adapt to the fact that he was the main man, the one to trust, not easy for a 20 year old.

The situation is a bit better at this point and two recent wins in the Premier League, as well as having Erling Haaland back in goalscoring form with 3 goals in the last 2 outings makes it a bit easier. Hopefully Haaland will get the regular service needed with De Bruyne, Kovacic and Gundogan all again available.

Pep does have a great group of players and at the moment Savinho has taken a leading role, to help the team out of problems. Jack Grealish has been challenged to take on the competition, but we will see if he does, or decides to try something else, possibly a move to either Arsenal or Spurs.

This period has probably given Pep Guardiola a lesson he will learn from and to get out of it will of course see Man City even stronger. The eagerness to compete and become a better unit will be what this period will see, as players are the weapon.

We all know the clouds hanging over Man City, but they tend to get out of everything chasing them, and they will be out trying to find the players that can take over from a number of players coming to a certain age, we will just see what happens next, but we believe changes to the squad will be made, but it will be a full turnover, possibly two to three players coming, as others will be chipped out.
