Tom Cleverley said his Watford side will need to be at their best to get a result at home to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday (March 29, 12.30pm KO), despite the Devon club being bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.

Argyle are six points adrift of safety, but Cleverley believes their boss Miron Muslić has done a good job since taking over from his former Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney in January.

What I would say is he's doing a great job,” Cleverley said.

“He's getting the best out of that group, he's changed their style a little bit and it'll be a really tough test on Saturday.

“But we focus on ourselves. If we're at our best on Saturday, we win the game and that's what we have to strive for.”

With the Hornets five points shy of the play-off spots, there is little margin for error for Cleverley’s side with eight games left to play.

“Every team seems like it's got something to play for,” he said.

“It looks like a really exciting last five weeks of the regular season and I'm excited to be a part of that.”

Watford drew 2-2 away on a Friday evening in Plymouth in November – a sore one to take for the visitors who conceded a last-gasp Andre Gray equaliser after what had been a strong performance.

“The Plymouth away one for sure hurts a little bit more than the others because it was a game we deserved to win,” Cleverley added.

“There are two or three that stand out that really sting and two or three that we've nicked.

“Bristol City at home, I'm sure we probably stole a bit of a result, but it all evens itself out.”
