Yáser Asprilla’s long-range wonderstrike has been named as the Golden Boys’ goal of 2024 by fans voting exclusively on the official Watford FC app.

The Colombian scored a memorable equaliser to get the Hornets back on level terms in the Sky Bet Championship clash at Norwich City on February 13.

After cushioning down a high ball, Asprilla dribbled forward and cut inside before unleashing an unstoppable strike which found the top corner from around 30 yards out via the post and bar.

The goal received 41.3 per cent of the vote on our poll, with Giorgi Chakvetadze’s free-kick against Millwall on the opening day of this season coming second with 27.8.

Vakoun Bayo’s acrobatic finish against Derby County on August 24 ended in third-place with 8.3 per cent of the vote, while there were 10 contenders in all.

Watford’s official app is a must-have for all Hornets fans, as the home of exclusive content such as the Goal of the Year poll throughout the 2024/25 season.
