Al-Khor not keen on Tau

Al-Khor have distanced themselves from rumours linking the Qatar Stars League club with a move for out-of-favour Al Ahly winger Percy Tau.
The Bafana Bafana international fueled speculation that he could leave the Cairo International Stadium this month after removing the Red Eagles from his social media accounts on Tuesday.
Tau was only given a minute of action against CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League last Friday despite having registered a goal and assist in the reverse fixture between the two teams on December 22.
The 30-year-old was then left out of the squad completely for the Egyptian Premier League clash with Smouha on Tuesday amid reports that the Knights are interested in acquiring his signature.
Kaizer Chiefs and Esteghlal, who are managed by Pitso Mosimane, have also been credited with an interest in the former Mamelodi Sundowns star, but Al-Khor head of football Hamad Dasmal Al Kuwari denied claims that Tau or Al Ahly team-mate Hussein El Shahat are on their radar.
“We have not entered into negotiations, neither directly nor indirectly, to sign Al Ahly duo Hussein El Shahat and Percy Tau.There is no intention at the present time to sign any professional player at all.” Al Kuwari stated.
Tau has made just five starts for Marcel Koller’s side in all competitions this season and his troubled time in Egypt appears to be coming to an end.
