Broos taps rugby wisdom ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says that he had a fruitful meeting last week with Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus, and was keen to pick the rugby coach's brain ahead of the team's World Cup qualifiers.

The senior national football team are currently in training camp this week as they prepare to face Lesotho and Benin. Should Broos and his charges pick up maximum points, they will have made a massive stride in booking a spot in next year's FIFA World Cup in North America.

"It was a very nice meeting, we agreed that we will see each other in the future to discuss about how I manage a team, how he manages a team, so I was very happy to meet him," Broos said about his meeting with Erasmus, as per iDiskiTimes.

"He invited me, if I can, if there's no Bafana Bafana game or whatever, he invited me to come and see a game and even come a few days on training with them. So I'm very excited about it."

Erasmus shared his positive impressions of the meeting on social media, stating: "Not a long chat, but certainly learned a few things I will try to implement! Dankie Hugo Broos! Lekka.”

After four matches South Africa is tied on points with Rwanda and Benin in Group C though Rwanda currently leads the standings.

Erasmus is preparing for a demanding season ahead, including two challenging Rugby Championship matches against the All Blacks in New Zealand.
