Downs return to winning ways, Rabat extend streak

Mamelodi Sundowns ladies returned to winning ways in their latest CAF Women's Champions League assignment with a resounding 4-0 against Central Bank of Ethiopia in Group B at Stade Larbi Zaouli on Wednesday.

Sundowns, who suffered a 1-0 defeat against Masar in their initial Group B tie, were at their dominant best against CBE this week as Melinda Kgadiete (2), Boitumelo Rabale and Lelona Daweti got their names on the scoresheet in Morocco.

As it stands, Sundowns occupy 3rd spot in Group B and trail log leaders Edo Queens by a solitary point. Edo Queens and Masar shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw in their matchday two fixture, with both sides sitting on four points in Group B.

Elsewhere, FAR Rabat recorded a 3-1 win against TP Mazembe at Stade El Abdi on Wednesday and extended their lead at the top of Group A by three points.

Rabat have now bagged their second victory on the spin in Group A, following their 3-0 win against Aigles de le Medina last Saturday.
