Van Dijk goes in on Partey

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk reserved a slight dig at Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey following the Red's 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night.

In what was the standout fixture in gameweek nine of the 2024/25 Premier League, Arsenal and Chelsea cancelled each other out in a fiercely contested battle in London.

Van Dijk, who got his name on the scoresheet in the 18th minute following Bukayo Saka's 9th minute opener, expressed that it was easy getting one over the Partey en-route to adding his name on the scoresheet.

The Dutchman also mentioned that he had no trouble in being man-marked by Partey at the corner situation.

"I think they're very solid in set pieces and obviously they've shown it," van Dijk said, as per Arsenal Insider.

"I think obviously when I was marked by Partey I think he only looked at me so it was quite easy to get from him.

"But anyway, it's a little bit of luck that you need, a little flick from Lucho and I was there to tap it in."
