Accusation of Arsenal and Manchester City being used in effort to 'blackmail' club over transfer

Arsenal and Manchester City have found themselves being used in an effort by Manfred Ugalde's agents to 'blackmail' Spartak Moscow, according to claims from Russia today.
The story is according to Russian outlet Mash, who report that neither Arsenal nor Manchester City have serious interest in the striker.
They report that Ugalde’s camp 'began to blackmail' the Russian club, using sports bloggers and journalists to stage a story about a possible departure. This was part of a plan to 'extract several million' from Spartak.
Ugalde has been a success in the Russian Premier League and his representatives wanted a new contract as a result. Their proposal was increasing the striker's wages from €1.7m to €3m plus another million in commissions.
Spartak showed no desire to move, or at least no rush to do so, so the agents 'harnessed' journalists and bloggers according to Mash.
These specifically say that Ugalde may leave soon and named possible suitors in the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and PSG. Zenit St Petersburg were also in the mix.
Mash, though, report that none of these clubs have any interest in Ugalde. In fact, they are 'very far' from buying him and no one has made specific proposals for him.
Instead, they were simply being used by his agents in a 'blackmail' plot, which has now been brought to the surface and exposed.
This all sounds quite dramatic, and similar happens daily in football with many footballers looking for a better deal.
