Football transfers expert David Ornstein has revealed the truth amid reports that Arsenal are ‘in talks’ to sign Benjamin Sesko in January.

United Stand journalist Sam C claimed on Thursday that the Gunners have opened discussions with RB Leipzig over a possible move this month.

‘EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal are in talks with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko,’ he posted on his X account, ranking up over 11,000 likes and 2.6m views.

‘Told Arsenal want a loan with buy option, Leipzig want money upfront or an obligation. Understand Arteta has spoken with Sesko on more than one occasion.’

Ornstein has now shared his own views as he appeared on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, pouring cold water over the Sesko rumours.

‘At time of recording this, my information is that there are no talks between Arsenal and RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko and he is not expected to move in this transfer window,’ Ornstein said.

‘Arsenal do have a long-standing interest in him. He’s high on their recruitment list. [But the same is true for] Man Utd and Chelsea. The list goes on.

‘[Arsenal] explored it in the past, then he signed a new contract. He is really important to Leipzig at the moment.

‘They are fighting for better results in the Bundesliga. They need him and he is their best player. They are under no financial pressure to sell him.

‘Never say never in this industry, because you just don’t know what will happen one minute to the next – if a club comes in with an offer which is too good to refuse – but that’s not happened so far.

‘Leipzig don’t have any intention of selling him. The word that is coming back is ‘no chance’ from there – the fans would go crazy if Leipzig sold him at this moment, from what I hear.

‘Plus he signed that new contract because he wants to develop there for the time being.

‘So I don’t think a mid-season move is on his agenda either. Let’s see what happens more towards the summer but that is just my information right now.’
