Arsenal need to 'significantly reduce' asking price to get rid of player – Club won't use clause as it is

Sevilla will only buy Albert Sambi Lokonga from Arsenal this summer if his €12m purchase clause is 'significantly reduced'.
That's according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the midfielder will have to return to Arsenal this summer unless there is a change in asking price.
Lokonga has been on loan with the Spanish side since the summer, heading to Spain on his latest loan away from Arsenal, who no longer appear to have him in their plans.
The midfielder has enjoyed himself in Seville and established himself in the first team and made it clear publically on several occasions that he wants to remain if he can.
Sevilla have an option to make that happen, negotiating a purchase clause with Arsenal for €12m when they negotiated the loan deal in the summer.
The problem is, they don't want to pay that, and Estadio Deportivo report today that the figure will have to be 'significantly reduced' if a permanent transfer is to happen.
There's no mention of the price they would like to pay but it's easy to imagine it's nowhere near that €12m figure given Sevilla's finances and their now established trick of never paying these clauses despite agreeing to them.
Whether Arsenal will play ball remains to be seen but expect plenty of talk about those negotiations to bring the figure down in the coming months.
