Newcastle United, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs in the picture for Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck.

That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of Bild, and they cover Newcastle, Arsenal and Liverpool’s interest and BVB’s plan for him.

The centre-back has played close to 3,200 minutes from 36 games this season. His performances have attracted the attention of Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Dortmund want the 25-year-old to reject the Premier League trio and others in order to commit his long-term future to the club.

The Germany international’s contract lasts until 2027, and the report states he currently earns €5m per year. The Bundesliga club want to offer him a new deal that will see him become one of the top earners and also offer him captaincy.

BVB are aware that Schlotterbeck is on the radar of Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool and other clubs. They know their chances of extending his contract would reduce if they don’t qualify for Europe. Therefore, Dortmund are keen on extending his contract quickly.

Dortmund are 11th in the table, 10 points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt. They face Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final next month.
