Chelsea are still monitoring Atletico Madrid's Samu Omordoion, but interest has dropped in Jhon Duran and Jonathan David according to The Athletic.

The Blues are known to be in the market for a striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson, and whilst they have signed teenager Marc Guiu from Barcelona, reports have indicated they are still looking for another striker.

It's been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge already with Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Guiu, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all arriving in west London with a deal also done for Brazilian teenager Estevao Willian, who will join in 2025.

Chelsea still monitoring Omorodion

Chelsea have been linked with a host of strikers from across Europe, but appear to be biding their time before making a decision on who they would like to bring in.

The Blues have a number of options upfront with talented youngsters Guiu, and Deivid Washington providing back up to Jackson, whilst Christopher Nkunku is also capable of playing as a number nine.

Chelsea are still monitoring Omorodion.

The likelihood of Washington being part of the first team squad next season is slim, and Guiu will be assessed in pre-season before a final decision is taken on him.

The Athletic report that Chelsea will look closely if a top striker were to become available, as proven by their ambitious enquiry to Newcastle over Alexander Isak.

They also state that earlier interest in both Duran and David has cooled, but the club are still monitoring Omorodion, with other reports suggesting the Blues have had three bids rejected for the 20-year-old.

Omorodion fits the physical profile that Chelsea are believed to be looking for, but he only joined Atletico last summer and is yet to kick a ball for them having spent the last campaign on loan at Deportivo Alaves, where he scored nine goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

It feels like Chelsea aren't going to rush into signing another striker, and a move for anyone will be dependant on how both Guiu and Nkunku do in the position during pre-season.
