Chelsea are among several clubs chasing Kalmar FF’s Vince Osuji for the winter market.

That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who mention Chelsea when covering Club Brugge’s interest in the defender.

Recent claims from Sportbladet stated that Anderlecht and Slavia Prague are the clubs to have showing interest in Osuji.

Voetbal Nieuws relay it and then discuss Club Brugge’s desire to secure the 18-year-old. He arrived at the Swedish club in April and signed a contract until December 2028.

The centre-back has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season and has caught the attention of several clubs, including Chelsea. The report states the Jupiler Pro League duo aren’t the only ‘concrete candidates’ to secure his services.

It’s claimed Chelsea, Bologna, Lyon, Stade de Reims, PAOK, FC Dallas and FC Cincinnati are also in the picture to sign the Nigerian. It’s ‘certain that he’s heading for a departure’, but there’s no mention or suggestion where Osuji could end up next.

Kalmar sporting director Jörgen Petersson has told Barometern, relayed by Fotboll Direkt, that several clubs have contacted for Osuji, without revealing their details.

“I can say that we are in dialogue with a number of clubs about him. Then we’ll see where he ends up,” he said.

Fotboll Direkt state Kalmar want SEK 35m [€3m] to sell the player and this is affordable for Chelsea.
