Chelsea to recall Aarón Anselmino from Boca Juniors — reports

What's the plan?
Chelsea signed young defender Aarón Anselmino from Boca Juniors in the summer, but immediately loaned him back to the legendary Argentinian outfit for the season — or at least the rest of their season.
However, now, according to multiplereports on both sides of the Atlantic, Chelsea have decided to bring Anselmino over to Europe for good, and will apparently even pay a €1m bonus to do so on top of the €18m we already gave Boca in August. (As technically we're breaking his loan at the halfway point.) The move should become official when the transfer window opens in a few hours.
After his return to Boca in the summer, Anselmino seemed to quickly go from strength to strength, starting twelve of their next fourteen games in league and cup, before suffering a hamstring injury in mid-November that ruled him out for the final month of their season. He had missed most of the first half of 2024 with another hamstring injury as well. Propah Chels already!
Attempts at gallows humor aside, it's not quite clear what Chelsea's immediate plan with Anselmino might be, whether we send him on loan somewhere closer to home and perhaps keep him at Cobham to make sure he recovers fully ... and maybe starts training with the first-team as well?
