Palmer, Jackson, Sánchez nominated for Premier League monthly awards
Today at 12:12 AM
Congrats, lads!
Defending Premier League Player of the Month, Cole Palmer has a chance to make it two in a row after getting nominated once again. In fact, Palmer has now been up for this award all three months this season.
While his official statistics for October ("just" 1 goal and 1 assist in the 3 games) are not eye-popping, his secondary assist for Nicolas Jackson's goal against Newcastle was worth a nomination in and of itself.
In fact, that goal, wherein Jackson's finish was the least impressive part, has been nominated for the Premier League's Goal of the Month award. Nice to see quality recognized even when the finish isn't the pièce-de-résistance of the thing.

The third player up for an award this month is none other than Robert Sánchez. We have to go back in time a bit for this one, all the way to the start of October, when he pulled off a ridiculous stop in stoppage time to preserve out draw against Nottingham Forest. His counterpart from that game, Matz Sels is also nominated, though not for his equally massive stop against Christopher Nkunku in that same stoppage time, but rather for a save against Crystal Palace.
