There has been a positive injury update given by The Telegraph last night on one of Chelsea's star player who returned from international duty earlier this week.

Chelsea have had the worst luck with injuries in recent years, so Chelsea fans and the club always fear the worst now whenever they hear about a new injury, especially when it is to one of your key players.

Sources: Chelsea have internal striker discussions for January – Victor Osimhen return on the cards – Pre-deal not ruled out!

Cole Palmer was the standout star man for Chelsea last season, and he has started this season in top form as well. So any injury to Palmer is always going to spark fear amongst the fan base and at the club.

Palmer returned from international duty with England this week after only being there for one day. He is now back at Cobham.

Is Palmer injured?

Palmer returned from England camp

Thankfully, it looks like it is just a precaution from Chelsea, Palmer, and England, and Palmer just needs a bit of rest.

The report says Chelsea are optimistic that Cole Palmer is not facing a spell on the sidelines, despite his withdrawal from the England squad. It is not thought that Palmer has suffered a new injury.

Palmer is likely to be given some time off to rest and recuperate during the international break before returning to training in preparation for the resumption of the Premier League.

So, good news for Chelsea and their fans today. Palmer clearly needs some rest after playing all summer as well. But it doesn't look like there is any long-term injury issues to be concerned about there.
