Admittedly by fits and starts, Chelsea Women had an incredible 2024 year. They won a Women's Super League title for the fifth consecutive season after an incredible 6-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in Emma Hayes' goodbye, and got a 14-win streak under new boss Sonia Bompastor before dropping points against Leicester City last weekend on a 1-1 draw.

Another draw against Madrid today will suffice to get the Blues ahead of the Spanish outfit in their UEFA Women's Champions League group, with both already through to the knockout phase. But this shouldn't be enough for a team that's going beyond expectations in their results, and want to have performances that meet their victorious ways.
