Expectations raised

Tosin Adarabioyo made his first Premier League start for Chelsea this weekend, and formed a solid partnership with Levi Colwill in central defense, shutting out the home side and helping the team keep a second successive clean sheet. Don't see that too often these days (i.e. the last few years)!

At the same time, Chelsea (and particularly Nico Jackson) also showed some clinical finishing at the other end, scoring early in both halves to enable us to control proceedings to a large extent.

While head coach Enzo Maresca tempered the post-match celebratory vibes after a resounding 3-0 derby victory against West Ham, local man Tosin was having none of that.

"It was amazing, a great result, so I feel great. It was very impressive – three goals and a clean sheet, exactly what we came here to do and we got the job done. Being a derby just makes it a little bit more special that we came here and were able to get the win."

Not to get carried away, but Tosin believes we're nothing short of phenomenal.

"I think everyone knows our squad is phenomenal. You can take any player, you can swap any player in or out and it's still going to be a high level. [...] Every player aims for the top, every player aims for the best, so we've just got to keep on striving, putting the performance in every single weekend and see where it takes us."

Tosin's certainly correct in that we have excellent depth (especially when everyone's fit and not injured like every right back in the squad right now) and that everyone can be phenomenal on their day. The potential is certainly there, we just have to unlock it and unlock it consistently.

The work continues!
