Cerro Porteño’s Gabriel Aguayo has ended up on Crystal Palace’s agenda, according to multiple claims from South America.
The 19-year-old graduated from the Paraguayan club’s youth system and made his way into their senior team in 2024. He’s made 33 appearances so far, managing two goals and four assists in the process.
Journalist Wilson González Bronce took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report Crystal Palace are keen on signing him.
The Premier League side have been following the winger for several months and already made contact. In fact, Wilson González Bronce claims the talks are progressing over a potential deal.
Another Paraguayan journalist Elvin Kobs also took to X to discuss the Eagles interest in the attacker.
He claims the negotiations, likely between the two clubs, have been ongoing for a month and could be closed in the coming weeks. Aguayo would move to Oliver Glasner’s side after the South American U20 Championship.
Over at Popular, they state the youngster is ‘one step away’ from joining the London club.
The outlet says the two clubs are in advanced negotiations and Aguayo can be transferred to Crystal Palace in the coming weeks, after the ongoing tournament in Venezuela.
The South American U20 Championship finishes on February 16th. This indicates Crystal Palace could complete the deal in the winter market for Aguayo to arrive after at Selhurst Park later.
